Hi Reader,
Lately, I’ve been thinking about what has gone missing in this sector. It is not just people (though we all know leaders and our peers are leaving).
It is the loss of a room.
The room where middle leaders could step away from the fires for a moment, sit with peers who understood the pressure, and talk honestly about what the work was actually asking of them.
It was where we connected, discussed, and felt a sense of community.
The events were only ever the beginning. They led to councils forming, working groups taking shape, workshops being hosted, and ideas turning into real sector initiatives.
Something bigger grew from those rooms.
And that is part of what I am trying to rebuild now.
We are starting with events again, because connection has to come first. But they are designed to work within the constraints many of you are carrying right now, the pressure, the reform pace, and the widening scope of middle leadership roles.
